Issues trying to connect to SQL Server

I am trying to connect to my SQL Server from my website and am trying to solve my issues with"...not a tursted SQL Server connection." but in the process I have created a new problem. Everytime I try to register a new server I get the error message:

'Connection Open (PreLogIn handshake())

Any ideas what I did to create this issue and how I can fix it?

What concerns do I need to allow for since I do have a hardware firewall in place?|||Any firewall on the environment, access should be enabled to allow users. In fact we had an issue earlier with such behaviour and figured out the culprit is FW.
